In the story “the most dangerous game” by Richard Connell, the author uses figurative language to enhance the mood. In example the way the author uses irony “you shoot down men.” This enhances the mood because the reader gets interested in how one of the main characters General Zaroff hunts humans. When they thought Zaroff was a normal hunter just like the main character Sanger Rainsford. Another example is the author using adjectives like “blood warm water.” The author could have just said warm water but that wouldn’t enhance the scene like “blood warm water” and it would be less interesting. But when you say it the other way it makes it creepier and suspenseful it also goes along with the way Zaroff hunts. General Zaroff is correct because life is for the strong not just physically but mentally. You have to be strong mentally for all the challenges life throws your way that does not mean strong physically but mentally, for example in a house fire or any for that matter you are going to have to focus and figure out the safest way out you also have to think fast because in this situation you probably have a million things on your mind. Rainsford is correct too because the world is made up of two classes everything in this world is being hunted and hunting. We are hunting because we need food and we are being hunted because other animals need food. For example we go fishing to get fish to eat, and while we are hunting them they are being hunted by us and that goes for the whole animal food chain. In conclusion everything in this world is being hunted and hunting for not only food but survival
