In the short story “The Most Dangerous Game” Rainsford was justified in killing General Zaroff. Rainsford is a hunter who fell off a boat in the middle of no where. As he gets to land he runs into several obstacle courses, then gets to this big house and meets General Zaroff. General Zaroff also hunts, just not animals. He hunts something more dangerous such as humans who boats crashed like Rainsford.
Survive for three days with only a hunting knife and a supply of food while being hunted by General Zaroff. In the ending, Connell suddenly states that Rainsford had never slept in a better bed, cutting General Zaroff’s statement short. Rainsford
I see a perspective of the quotation, "Character is what you are in the dark.", by Dwight Lyman Moody in the short story, "Most Dangerous Game" by Richard Connell. This quotation gives the meaning that you see the real characteristic of a character when they are alone, and no one else is around to see what they are doing or how they are acting. You can see some examples of this perspective in the short story with characters General Zaroff and Rainsford. For instance, when speaking with Rainsford about hunting The General states, "It must have courage, cunning, and, above all, it must be able to reason." (Connell P.12).
Since Zaroff is hunting humans, one of them is most likely to die. Murder can not go unpunished. Rainsford would most likely have died if he didn’t kill Zaroff. Some may say that one should never kill no matter what. Well, if Rainsford himself never killed Zaroff, he would have died.
“Rainsford did not smile. ‘I am still a beast at bay.’ he said in a low, hoarse voice. ‘Get ready General Zaroff.’” While reading this quote, one may conclude that Zaroff is gone, and Rainsford has taken his place.

This short story “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell, is about Rainsford, a great hunter, who gets lost and finds himself in a tricky situation with another great hunter named General Zaroff. These hunters share the same interests and viewpoint when it comes to the animals they hunt, except when Rainsford realizes that Zaroff may be hunting a different kind of prey. Although these two characters feel the same way about animals not having feelings, Rainsford changes his mind when he realizes what being hunted really feels like. Both Rainsford and General Zaroff are unsympathetic towards their prey.
In Richard Connell’s “The Most Dangerous Game,” Sanger Rainsford is forced to test his survival skills while he is intensely hunted by an experienced war general named General Zaroff. In this story, Rainsford exhibits some very helpful characteristics like his resourcefulness, his strategic planning, and his ability to reason. As a result of Rainsford’s questioning the validity of General Zaroff’s hunting methods, he ended up playing in the game. Although I believe Rainsford is a very helpful, interesting, and dynamic character, at the end of the story, he must give up his own personal morals to win the game.

Rainsford is a big game hunter who falls off a boat near the island of General Zaroff, a big Cossack general who is looking for an alternative to hunting dangerous animals but with a twist. Throughout “The Dangerous Game” Rainsford and General Zaroff both show examples of IRony and exert arrogance.
The the book “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell, has lots of challenges and conflicts throughout the whole story. Two hunters are on a yacht in the Caribbean Sea, when one falls off and washes up on an island. There, he meets General Zaroff, a man with only one desire. To hunt humans. He makes Rainsford (the man from the shipwreck), go loose on the island in order to hunt him.
