Motherhood feeling blooms in each woman’s heart. As a little girl, motherhood is practiced through doll as if it is her baby. As a woman grows up, she creates her dreams of being a mother, strong bond, and attachment to this world; she naturally belongs to this hood. Motherhood then becomes waking up in the middle of the night to make sure that her child is well tucked in and to give her full attention, care, and love to a child. It is a harsh world, tiredness and exhaustion sometimes. Through the endless journey, she consumes her real, metal and emotional power and energy for the sake of her own children’s comfort and happiness. Rabbit seems to be a straightforward and ordinary mother. We see her giving instructions at the beginning of the story for the sake of her children’s safety “You may go into the fields or down the lane, but don’t go into Mr. McGregor’s garden” (Potter, 2002, pp. 8,9). She also sometimes displayed as a naive mother, Busy shopping for a grocery to prepare supper for her kids and minding her household issues, not knowing what is happening outside the home. (Potter, 2002, p. 14). We also learn that she is a single mom because Mr. McGregor ate Peter's father, Mr. Rabbit. (Potter, 2002, p. 11). She was left alone to raise four kids including Peter, so she has a great responsibility toward them. In The voices in The Park, we see that Charles mother’s first appearance gives us an impression that she is sophisticated. She is well dressed, and everything seems to be in order, she is controlling. We defiantly noticed that she is wearing a big hat, which refers to the blocked mind she got, she never listens to anyone including her son. We see also that she seems to care about the dog more than Charles. We see that the dog has a shadow, but Charles doesn’t have one as if he doesn’t exist. She also talks to Charles as if he is a dog “sit” (Browne, 1998) which also shows the lack of communication between the mother and Charles. Unlike Mrs. Rabbit where she speaks directly with her son and other kids using beautiful words like “dear” (Potter, …show more content…

Mrs. Rabbit Knows Peter very well that perhaps she pointed to the dangerous garden so that Peter would go out there and explore. She also believes in him she knew he would make it to the end and not get caught by Mr. McGregor. She knows that Peter like to be challenged, so she gave him a live lesson in life to learn. She is smart as she taught him to be dependent and earn courage. Mr. Rabbit defiantly contributed in Peter’s growing up process successfully and shaped his personality letting him discover himself. We necessarily see the opposite situation in Voices in the Park, Charles is lonely hastate to communicate or socialize. He is locked and blocked. In the park, bushes and trees also shaped like hats, no one listens to him, and he sees everything as his mother. She is not giving him a chance to explore the world around him. The mother cares about appearance more than what is inside. He is well-dressed too, but he is empty. Unlike Peter who lost his jacket and still didn’t care “….and got caught by the large buttons on his jacket. It was a blue jacket with brass buttons quite new” (Potter, 2002, pp. 34,35). Charles will never grow up; his mother won’t let him. She controls him unlike Mrs. Rabbit. We also learned that this was not the first lesson for Peter “His mother was busy cooking; she wondered what he had done with his clothes. It was the second little jacket and pair of
