In Hawaiian Haleakala means “House of the sun.” Haleakala National Park is located in the island of Maui, Hawaii. “Maui’s two eroded volcanoes, Haleakala and West Maui, were once part of a large volcanic massif made up of six major volcanoes. When sea level was lower, during the coldest times of the Pleistocene Epoch, the six volcanoes formed one island.” Haleakala is a part of the Kea trend of volcanoes that includes West Maui, Mauna Kea and Kohala volcanoes.
On the date August 2nd 2005, regarding the court case: Mount Laurel Township vs. MiPro Homes L.L.C., the Appellate Division of Superior Court reversed the ruling of a trial Court. The trial court entered an injunction – preventing actions against MiPro Home’s 16.3-acre parcel and dismissing Mount Laurel’s case. The ruling by the Appellate Division of Superior Court was later affirmed by the New Jersey Supreme court, and the United States Supreme Court. The Appellate Division adjudicated that Mount Laurel Township had not improperly exercised eminent domain in condemning the 16.3-acre parcel. Was Mount Laurel justified in confiscating private land because the municipality did not want a 23 single-home development on the MiPro site, and would
On May 18th, 1980, Mount Saint Helen, a volcano in Washington erupted majorly. The eruption is the most studied volcano eruption. Mt. St. Helen was known as one of the most prestige volcanoes in the Cascade Range before its eruption on May 18, 1980. The eruption made a big blast that destroyed the northern part of the volcano, crushing millions of the trees below the mountain. The zone was further described as a big debris avalanche.
Off the Books Report In this book we see Sudhir Venkatesh as he dwells among the people of Maquis Park, a poor black neighborhood in the ghetto of Chicago. He comes to tell us about the black market economy that keeps this neighborhood alive; although mostly illegal, the mix of “licit and illicit” goods and services serves as a way of making a living for almost everyone in this neighborhood, ranging from prostitutes and drug-dealers to pastors and nannies. This economy is incredibly interesting to read about and observe through lens of Venkatesh. He could not stand idly by as a bystander as he took part in the community of these people and after years of being there he slowly became a person of interest in the neighborhood who was sought out
Located in the beautiful state of Wyoming, the Grand Teton mountain is the tallest peak of the Teton Range. Touching the sky at 13,775 feet, the Grand Teton is only half the height of Mount Everest but still possesses the power to take your breath away. The colors, they are so fascinating to this work of art that the weather created. The work of art was mad by water on a cotton plantation back in the 1800s. Providence Canyon has an amazing scenery with many different colors on the walls of the canyon. Every time it rained on the cotton field the water would form a huge ditch or trench that kept expanding.

To review a historical site, I visited the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site located at 1001 E 5th Street Vancouver, Washington. The historical site was established by John McLoughlin in 1824 by the Hudson’s Bay Company. The setting was enormous, with many various old buildings including large acres of land. I found it very intriguing to explore the history of my hometown and what exactly occurred at this historical place that made it famous. First of all, the location wouldn’t have existed without the exploration by Lewis and Clark.

The environmental consequences of the bushland being demolished was exponential. Many animals, large and small, were forced from their natural habitat and many died as a result of wandering too close to the highway. The natural landscape was also ruined as the housing development crew tore down trees, small native shrubs and drained the damn which was home to a delicate micro-ecosystem. The benefits of Illaroo’s conservation program are that animals and plants on the verge of extinction have been given a chance to repopulate in the hopes that the native Australian flora and fauna will survive for future generations.
There are many natural disasters that affect the world, for example, volcanoes. Mount St. Helens is known to be the most active volcano in the Cascade Range in Washington; effecting the people and the state. It was first recognized as a volcano in 1835! Before the eruption on May 18,1980, Mount St. Helens was a beautiful symmetrical cone, 3,000 meters above sea level. For most of the 20th century, many people viewed this mountain and recreation area as a beautiful and peaceful place, but after the volcano erupted in 1980 that view point was shattered.

Research One source of inspiration for my website is the original Yosemite national park website (https://ww w.nps.gov/yose/index.htm).
When it comes to Australia 's rugged outback scenery Crocodile Dundee takes the cake. The stunning Australian outback is superbly presented in this movie. The Kakadu National Park and the stunning scenery of the Northern Territory with its wetlands, swamps, dry bush and mountain ranges are unique to the Australian landscape. ‘Crocodile Dundee is a Comedy that exemplifies the traits of a true blue “aussie bloke”, unpretentious, tough, laid back and a larrikin.
