Jaylin Buckner 12/20/17 English Mrs.B 7th Period Movie Comparison In Toni Morison‘s book The Bluest Eye I was very intrigued with the context and plot of this fascinating story of sorrows of a girl that was 11 years old, wrongly talked about ,and ugly little girl. Pecola Breedlove really dreams and hopes for blonde hair, blue eyes and white skin so that she can’t be called ugly anymore.The book is very descriptive and specifically characterized the event of this ugly little girl, Pecola Breedlove is blind to the fact of her beauty in the white society where she is criticized about how she is an ugly girl. In the movie, when Celie’s mom goes to the doctor to check on an illness and while she is away her father rapes her. Quoting “You gonna do what your mammy wouldn’t”. After her mother dies Alfonso rapes her more and more. Leaving her helpless and antisocial. In the book Cholly Breedlove, father of Pecola comes in at night while she is sleeping and rapes her when he is drunk. She sometimes is awake but doesn’t let him know or acts to be sleep.The sex themes and situations relate in both the movie and book.
