“Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee”. The hands can’t hit what the eyes can’t see” was a famous quote by Muhammad Ali. This quote encapsulates the way he boxed and how he was a huge sensation in the world of boxing. Ali was known for walking around telling people that he was “The Greatest” and his boxing record supported that. Not only was Ali a great athlete, but he was also a man of faith. Ali lived a great life starting from his childhood, into his later life, following his impact on the world, and even how he is still remembered today! This riled people up, and many people disliked him because they believed he was cocky. When Ali lost against Ken Norton, he had multiple people harassing him after his loss. His then wife, Belinda, even had to go to the hospital due to shock. More of a personal struggle that he faced was the fear of airplanes (Ali & Durham, 1975). In his early days, he would do everything he could to avoid flying on an airplane. This caused him trouble; he almost didn’t compete in the Olympics in Rome because of it (Ali & Durham, 1975). Ali faced many struggles, but he always maintained a positive outlook on life. Sadly, Muhammad Ali died on June 3rd, 2016 in Scottsdale, Arizona. He suffered from a condition known as Parkinson's disease, along with spinal stenosis. His spinal stenosis limited his movement and his ability to speak. Due to this, Ali had no final words before his death in 2016 (Piccottl, 2023). He spent the last ten years living in Paradise Valley in Phoenix, Arizona (Piccottl, 2023).
