The gods have personalities and feelings like humans. The Enuma Elish is the Babylonian creation myth. Aspu got upset with the other gods for misbehaving. Aspu and Mummu came up with a plan to destroy the gods. Ea thought of a way to spoil the plan. He put a spell that caused Aspu to fall into a deep sleep and Mummu to be powerless. Ea killed Aspu. Ea and Damkina became the parents of Marduk, who becomes the wisest of all the gods. Tiamat created monsters for the revenge of Aspu to fight against the gods. Osiris was the king. Set wanted to overthrow Osiris so he could become king. He measured him when he was sleeping to make a box that would fit him. He tricked him to make Osiris think it was a gift. When Osiris went into the box, Set sealed it with melted lead and sent him down a river. Isis went out to look for the box. She found it and brought it back to the kingdom. Isis brought Osiris back to life temporarily using magic and hid the box. Isis gave birth to Osiris’ son, Horus. Thoth told her to hide Horus from Set for his safety. Set accidentally found the box where Osiris was hidden and ripped his body to shreds. Isis and Horus found all of his body parts and magically brought him back to life. Horus got in a fight with Set to avenge his father. Horus won and got the inheritance of the kingdom. In the Hittite myth Telepinu, the god of fertility got angry and stormed off with all the growing things. None of the gods could find him, so Tarhun sent a bee to look for him. The bee found Telepinu and woke him up from sleep. Telepinu got even angrier and created a flood that destroyed the city. You have risked so much for your city. Once you found something that you wanted, you never gave up until you found an answer. You were willing to go to the extreme to get rid of all evil for the safety of the people of Uruk. At some points, you were headstrong and overbearing. You had the gods complain about your arrogance. But with the help of Enkidu, you learned what your place was. You have accomplished so much in your life with the help of your friends Enkidu. You have done things that others wouldn’t even think of doing; like killing Humbaba, a creature of evil and defeating the Bull of Heaven. You were a great king and very admirable. You never gave up with anything. Even after Enkidu died, none of your motivation was lost. At first, you were sad and lost and it made you fear your own death. That was what inspired you to go on a quest to find Utnapishtim. After you learned that you couldn’t become immortal and lost the plant; a gift from Utnapishtim that made you not age, you were still proud of everything you’ve accomplished. Under any circumstance, you would never quit and that made you a great role model for
