Summery The purpose of this lab is to insure that all students can understand and identify different parts of cells and properly identify different types of tissues. Cytology is the study of cells. In this section of the lab students will identify different organelles in a cell such as the nucleus. Being able to identify the organelles in a cell is important to being able to understand the function of cells. Knowing which organelle is which, will give the student more knowledge on how to properly identify a cell and cell parts. In this lab students will also be able to identify if a cell going through mitosis will be in interphase, prophase, metaphase, anaphase, or telophase. This is important to understand cell replication and …show more content…
THis is cartilage that is found in your ear (Marib, 2016, p. 154). Fibrocartilage tissue have a thick collagen matrix. It helps absorb shock in areas between the spine(Marib, 2016, p. 155). Muscle Tissues Cardiac muscles has cells that meet at the intercalated disk. You find these muscles in the heart(Marib, 2016, p. 158). Smooth muscles have no striations and have cells that are close and form sheets. You find these muscles in the walls of hollow organs(Marib, 2016, p. 158) Skeletal muscle is long. It has many striations. This muscle is found along the bones (Marib, 2016, p. 157). Nervous Tissues Motor neurons are a specialised nerve that send electrical impulses over distances in the body(Marib, 2016, p. 159). Neuroglia are the supporting cells that also insulate and protect the neurons(Marib, 2016, p. 160). References Clark, K. (2016). (Photographer) Cardiac Muscle Tissue.
