The music I listened to when I was younger and the music I listen to now is different and shows how much I’ve changed as a person. When I was younger, I listened to country music. It told stories of love, relationships, and having a good time. The music I listen to now speaks out against the flaws of society and it opens my eyes to reality. As a person, I have drastically changed from a naïve and ignorant child to a wise and realistic adult. The music I listened to back then and the music I listen to now, accentuates this change. When I was younger, I listened to music that was full of life and happiness. Country music made me feel good. I would dance and sing along. Mostly though, I listen to music that is empowering and realistic. Many songs in the genre of metal speak of the flaws of society and open my eyes to its’ coruption. They help me see who I want to be and remind me of things that must be done. They also urge me to be different; to escape corrupt humanity and be my own person. These songs give me strength through their powerful messages and make me want to be a better person. Now that I’m older, I see the world as it really is. I am now a wiser person and this is shown through my music choice. The music I listen to now is very different from the music I listened to when I was young. I listened to country when I was younger because it was happy and peaceful with a bit of humor on occasion. But, I was naïve when I was young and as I grew older, I began to listen to many genres of music. Most of which, consists of metal music because it’s realistic and calls out the flaws of society. Because of this, metal music empowers me and shows me who I need to be. My views have changed greatly from when I was a child and it can be seen through my change in music
