Research on this topic….. Not only did I gain a boatload of information about music history; I also learned where the book were located in the library and how to read call numbers. Being able to read the call numbers will allow me to find books more easily for future research projects. Also, I have improved on my ability of helping others find books on their topic, without having to look online for the call numbers.
I came to class on Monday, November 14, 2016 wondering how I was going to get my information on music history. Mr. Underwood handed me four book all about music history. They were called “Music Cultures of the Pacific, the Near East, and Asia” by William P. Malm, “Twentieth-Century Music: An Introduction” by Eric Salzman, “Music …show more content…

I then went to the library and asked Mrs. Gethoches where I could find books about music history. I learned where the stacks of books were in the library, so I went over to the section about music history and found unending information about music. There I found a book called “History of Music” by Hugh M. Miller. This book was very helpful because it allowed me to answer questions one, part of three, and four. Next, I look on the school website for book on music history, and I found a book called “The concise Encyclopedia of Music & Musicians” by Martin Cooper, which should help me answer the question, what were the different musical eras and how were they different? It also contain information about the origin of music and some history too. As I continued my research, I look online and went to http://www.ipl.org/div/mushist/, and on this website I find very good information on the history of music, but I didn’t find what I was looking for. After that, I decided to go back to the school website and look at other articles on music history, and I found what I was looking for.
