Several experiences in my life influence my academic work and goals in College. The first is that I am Christian and I feel that God is leading me to the mission fields in Africa. It is nice to have a Christian choice in a university, and I feel that it will greatly influence my success in studying for Nursing and furthering my general education in college studies. From what I have seen in my research, Africa is in dire need of skilled nurse's help, and becoming BSN prepared through Colorado Christian University will help me become better equipped in my skills, my views, and my overall knowledge of the nursing profession. I must succeed in my academic work through a University in order to gain the financial means necessary to bring that dream to life. Along with providing a strong income to support my family, I want my children to see me furthering my education. I want them to see my hard work but also see the pay off at the end which would be a career that I enjoy that supports them well. I want them to see that a woman can be a strong Christian mother and wife and also have the book smarts to go through college. I want them to see that many things are possible, that college is possible, and that they can succeed in goals if they commit to it. Finally, as if following my God, supporting my family, and being a strong role model for my children are all not enough to influence my academic work goals at Colorado Christian University, the last reason for obtaining my BSN is that I am choosing an employer that requires its nurses to have a further degree. I am happy to further my education after becoming an RN so that I will be more well rounded as a nurse and understanding the profession more in depth and more
