When I began this journey in the mental health field, I was under the false pretense that it would be pretty clean cut. The establishment in the urge to aid other budded from my friends coming to me for advice and we would often discuss how well I was at being able to view situations from different standing points. As the positive feedback began to pour in from my peers, I thought the next logical step would be to receive monetary recompense for this craft in which I had excelled. It was when I entered into college that I was quickly made aware of the significant difference between the psychology field and just doling out advice to my friends to find their own happiness. This was the turning point for me and I gained a genuine passion for consoling and encouraging others. It was far more satisfying to help others receive little moments of peace within their minds than helping a friend figure out their temporary issues with their current boyfriend. My senior year of college, I was offered a position at Dover Behavioral Health Systems, a psychiatric hospital in Dover, Delaware. However, this position as a Mental Health Technician was just a small peak into the world of where I desired to build a career. I desired to make a bigger difference in individual’s lives. This is when I began to talk to the social workers in the clinic who seemed to be helping more than I currently could. After numerous conversations with a span of social workers it seemed as though the route for me was the world of health care as a social worker. Yet, in order to fulfill the hopes of effectively servicing more, I am required to further my education by obtaining a higher degree. This requirement is what puts me in search of an institute to aid in my growth in the clinical health care
