Pegahmagabow was, and continues to be, a great example of persistence. In fact, he was one of the only Canadian soldiers who had fought from the beginning to the very end of
There are many ways that persistence helped Salva and his group survive. Salva used persistence when he was walking though the desert without water but he kept going after people in his group died from dehydration. When Salva and his uncle Jewiir, and his group had been robbed by Neur men Salva kept on going. Even after Salva’s uncle had been killed by Neur men he kept on moving and not stopping.
Persistence is the unwavering commitment to overcoming the challenges that you are faced with. Obstacles can be both big or small, it does not matter the size, to persist you must only continue to show up, to try, and to never give up. Persistence helps humans stive to be their best, enabling them to make the impossible possible. Persistence is defined as the “firm or obstinate continuance in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition.” (??????)
There are some ways that Salva showed persistence. Salva’s uncle told Salva to go to Ethiopia and never stop. Salva knew that his uncle has wanted and Salva walked a long way to Ethiopia (68). Another way Salva showed persistence is Salva didn’t have water but he kept going through the hot desert.
Knowing that nothing is guaranteed, my participation in the Boy Scouts has served as a foundation to allow me to expand my knowledge in other fields of study in case my expected career path does not go as planned.
Bradley is a leader in the Boy Scouts of America. Over the years he has held numerous leadership positions within his troop and led several campouts. One leadership example in particular was when he led his troop during his Eagle Scout project. The Command Museum at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot asked Bradley to create something for the thousands of families who come every week to watch their loved one graduate as a United States Marine. Bradley came up with the idea of creating a life sized photo opportunity of a drill instructor correcting a recruit.
When I think about energy and persistence I think about the leaders of our country past and present. These leaders had to have energy to be persistent and fight for what needed fought for. Benjamin Franklin was one of our Founding Fathers and he achieved many things in his life. In order to achieve these things he had to use his energy and persistence. The quote, “Energy and persistence conquer all things,” applied then, applies now, and will always apply.
This project taught me multiple life lessons. These lessons included concepts such as communication skills, detailed planning, leadership, and vital importance of keeping a commitment. My Eagle Scout Project has given me experiences, and vital practice with skills that most seventeen-year old’s do not receive until later in life. The project has helped me grow and mature as a person. Working through this project has provided me with experiences with managerial responsibilities that I can use later in my life.
Perseverance may seem difficult at times, but in the end it is what will make people satisfied with their own
Persistence is the will to go on. A trait that is necessary to get through life’s obstacles. A person does not fight a lion by giving up, the person fights, with a will to succeed. Persistence is important. Living through life’s tough obstacles requires persistence.
I started attending Fork Union Military Academy in the sixth grade and have stayed throughout my entire high school career. To me, this in itself is a large accomplishment and is something I am very proud of. Every cadet goes through many ups and downs, I know in my seven years I have seen more than my fair share of trouble, but like my father always said, it 's not how you fall, but how you pick yourself back up. I made sure to do everything I could to show those around me, and to prove to myself, that I could pick myself up and accomplish anything. I faced and continue to face many different challenges in my daily life, those that every teenager faces, and also those that have been presented to me because of the kind of environment I placed myself in.
“Scouts Honor” by Avi is a realistic fiction short story about three 9 nine-year-old boys who are trying to get to the next level of boy scouts. To make it to the next level they have to camping together and are trying to prove who is the toughest out of all the boys. In the beginning of the story they try to prove who is the toughest out of the three of them and who will stay the longest. They go to New Jersey for their overnight camping trip and are not very prepared. After losing Max and not having enough food they realize that they cannot face these challenges that they encounter.
High school? It was one of the best four years a teenager could have experience as a human on earth. On my first day of freshman year I had no idea what high school would have for me. As the years progressed throughout high school many army recruiters tried to convince me to join the service as soon as my graduation was over. The ability to join and protect our country is very honorable but the fear of going to war and having the possible chance of dying is not a great career path to follow.
It was once said by some author, “A little more persistence, a little more effort, and what seemed hopeless failure may turn to glorious success”. I totally agree to this statement because one should be patient enough, firm and hard working to achieve success in life. Sometimes before achieving success, we do experience failure and this failure reminds us to be more hardworking as said by Harvey Mackay “I’ve known entrepreneurs who were not great salespeople, or didn't know how to code, or were not particularly charismatic leaders. But I don't know of any entrepreneurs who have achieved any level of success without persistence and determination.
As high school went on, the workload grew, but I also grew, so I was perfectly capable of keeping up with the work. This type of growth came rather easy to me. It was important for me to have one thing I could be confident with through all of the drama and chaos in my life. Growing in my community was not challenging thanks to the Live Algoma movement. Our community itself has experienced so much growth over the past four years, which allowed many students, including me, to grow in their community involvement as well.
