Leadership Philosophy To become a great leader one must possess a trait of quality skills. My leadership philosophy consist of how a person communicates, their character, how resilient they can be and their consistency. Each skill ties into one another, creating a person who can lead from the front and set standards, and influencing future organizational Leaders. It is expected that all Leaders possess certain qualities, but it is impossible to expect positive performance by Soldiers when their perspective Leaders has not first displayed it. A chain of communication between Soldiers and their Leaders can be very important, and detrimental to cohesion if not properly constructed between a Soldier and their Leader. It is outlined within the Creed of The Non-Commissioned Officer, “I will communicate consistently with my Soldiers and never leave them uninformed” (NCO Creed, DATE). Without the emphasis upon this key aspect, it is impossible not only to know your Soldiers, but to understand them, coordinate work related aspects with them and other mission specific tasking as well. In regards to myself, I make it key for leaders within my organization to have a working relationship with their perspective Soldiers. In today’s Army, and other branches of the military, it is common for Soldiers to view and grasp the best qualities of their perspective Leaders. This is why it is ideal that Leaders maintain good character. A Leader can never be sure who is watching or how we are displaying ourselves to the future Leaders of our perspective organizations. I make sure that my Soldiers view me in a positive light. This is done by always portraying myself in a professional manner, a positive attitude, and approachable
