Growing up in an Asian family and heritage, I was always told to push myself to the limit. Being a hardworking student, I have taken challenging classes throughout my high school career. Higher level courses such as Pre-AP, AP, and IB classes have helped me transcend my own limits, pushed me to work harder and allowed me to realize my full potential. In addition, it has taught me how to work in a team with people who have a different opinion than me. Organizing community events, volunteering at those events to make sure everything is going as planned and by helping manage upcoming events have drastically shaped my overall decision making skill, allowing me to choose between two factors much effectively. Volunteering and participating in these events has taught me new ways of doing things in a time conserving manner. For example, in the first year of Business Information Management class, we were told to type a timed resume for Bill Gates. Only other time the term “resume” had shaken my eardrums was when my uncle said, “your participation in physics club will make your resume very strong.” As I was trying to recall that moment, my teacher passed out a sample resume so we can get an idea of what a resume looks like. Before I could even take a look at the paper, I hear a voice saying, “your time starts now!” Although I was able to finish writing based off the sample resume, it took me a great amount of time. As I attended the Microsoft workshop at the library, I was taught a much faster and accurate way of typing documents in word, excel and powerpoint. The technology workshop fueled my passion for computers. The future academic and extracurricular activities I’m planning to take in college such as athletic programs, community service, fundraising and etc gives me a chance to gain experiences that aren’t taught in
