My meaning of College-Level writing
College level writing to me is all about students being consistent writers in case their future job requires it. Learning how to write a college paper and do it effectively is a task itself. Also just the fact that you can communicate through text is a good strength to have. So getting familiarity and practice in it before you get to a job is a big factor. More likely the employer would hire you over somebody who doesn’t know how to write a paper.

One of the hardest mistakes to correct for me is the use of punctuation sometimes. Even misspelling words could affect your grade on the paper. So making a bad first draft on your papers are key to catch everything that you need to fix. It’s a different level of expectation because they want you to be close as possible to perfect.
Most of what I think that sets college writing apart is the vocabulary in your writing. As you progress and your writing skills get better the better your vocabulary should be. Even your thought process increases, coming up with supporting details is even easier. Like I said before it comes with practice and good habits. Make the initiative to get better and seek out new words to use for your writing.
Being ready for criticism is also a big part of the process to be a better writer. If you dont get advice from someone other than yourself you won't know what to fix. Then taking the advice and putting it to use without getting angry or like the person is attacking you. Peer reviews can also give you advice on different ways to come up with ideas. Look for the main points they put and you see a repetitive cycle that you can’t get
