The changing in technologies and social environment makes the society change faster than before. This situation had created an ambiguity for those who could not cope with it, in fact nobody could. When the standards that built our society started to vanish, people began to misinterpret the meaning of right and wrong based on their own personal interest. Moral compass is one of the terms that people could use to make sure that they always stay on the right path facing this situation. However, developing a moral compass is never an easy task to do, in fact a moral compass is built through a long and demanding journey of life. The biggest dilemma that I experienced was related with academic integrity, as it is the biggest issue faced by every single student in my home country until now. Back at the time when my parents were still at school, the students were really value academic integrity. However, it was only a shadow of the past, most of the students in my home country are now the victim of comfort and ease of the digital era. This happened because there is a massive moral lapses occur in the society. One of my favorite justification was, How could I say it is wrong to cheat when everybody cheats, the only thing that I did was following the crowd. On the other hand, growing in the environment that keeps challenging me was really helping me to form the standards and values that define my moral principles. Thus, I started to learn about honesty and integrity, and I started to question myself every time I cheat. Although I did not stop cheating right away, but every time I cheat, there was always a vague whisper from my heart that tried to stop me. This was the time when my values based on honesty and integrity started to construct my moral principles, and from time to time this whisper keeps getting louder until one day I decided to stop cheating. I cannot believe how much have I changed only by stop cheating, I became a more responsible person, I started to think critically, and the most important thing is I can see my goal clearly.
