My Pedagogic Creed
Article 1: What Education is
I believe that education is the right of every man, woman, and child who lives on this earth. Especially since like Dewey there are two sides to Education. There is the Education that one receives inside the classroom as well as the Education that one receives outside of the classroom. This is because Education should provide the tools for learners to acquire knowledge to navigate the world around them. As well, Education is an ongoing process that needs to be stimulating and engaging to the person to both excite and challenge the individual.
I believe Education should be individualized for each learner, however, the process of learning should be a social one. Thus there needs to be various methods for Education such as visual cues, auditory activity, and kinesthetic events. Having students help each other not only helps the student teach to better learn the material but they are also able to explain it to their peers. The education process should recognize not only the different learning styles of learners, but also the importance of the …show more content…

The way it is approached and achieved differs for every student because they will not think about it in the same manner even if a teacher is teaching them all the same way.
Article 2: What the School is...
I believe that the school should be a safe, engaging, and stimulating institution that facilitates education through social means. A school is a place for students to try and develop their style of learning with the help of a teacher to find the most effective form of instruction for them. The school should facilitate a learning environment where there is a sense of camaraderie between the learners and never the feeling of competition for knowledge because knowledge of all kinds is best learned through shared social experiences.
