Religion is defined as the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods; a system of faith and worship (Oxford Dictionary). This definition of religion is true to the “Abrahamic religions”; Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, the three largest religions in the world. These religions share a variety of the same characteristics for example they are all monotheistic, belief in one god. On my next journey of these religious visits I decided to visit the Islamic religion. November 21st, 2017 at 11:00am I visited the Islamic Center of Ocala 1410 Ne 14th St, Ocala, FL 34470. Mohammad Allah is the one and only God of the Muslims. Islam literally means “surrender” or “submission,” indicating wholehearted surrender to God, and a Muslim is one who submits to God (Allah) (Molloy p. 414). The Five Pillars of Islam—belief in one God, praying five times a day, fasting, giving to charity, and going on pilgrimage—guide all Muslims (Video). Muslims are obligated to go to the pilgrimage once in their life, because they will have it with them for the rest of their life. At the heart of Islam is a belief in an all-powerful, transcendent God who has created the universe and who controls it down to the smallest detail (Molloy p. 414). The Quran, the sacred text of Islam, contains the teachings of the Prophet that were revealed to him from Allah (Pathos). Islam, a major world religion, founded in Arabia and based on the teachings of Muhammad, who is called the Prophet. One who practices Islam is a Muslim.
