Writing History I really don’t have a very good history with writing. Writing has never been one of my favorite things to do, maybe because I didn’t feel like I was good in it. My first time writing a sentence was horrible, and it took me three times to get it correct. As I got older I started to like writing narratives, but it still wasn’t something I preferred to do. I disliked all the other type of writing because it required so much thinking. Most of the time when I’m doing anything I use slang. When I’m texting, I don’t really complete my sentences or words. Slang makes everything quicker and easier seems that way to me, but I know you shouldn’t use it because it becomes a habit. Sometimes when I’m in class I forget that I have to switch back. Slang really isn’t a bad thing long as you can control the difference and know the correct way. I’m a big fan of song lyrics. I use to try to write lyrics, but I felt like I was wasting my time because it’s rare for people to make it big in the rap game. Now days the raps really don’t have a meaning besides drug, sex, and money. I talked more about life, and no one really wants to hear about that. I read a lot of Drake, J Cole, and Kendrick Lamar lyrics. They are the only ones that still try to talk about life. I enjoy the wordplay of those rappers. I tried writing to release stress from playing sports. I played a lot of sports at the same time, and it would stress me out going from practice to practice. I didn’t want to tell people it was tiring me, yet I was enjoying playing sports. My parents would make me stop if they felt like it was hurting me, so I just wrote it on paper.
