The elements shown in both crafts are how the authors and artists are similar in how they reveal a perspective. An example found in Gary Paulsen's novel, Hatchet text is, “His stomach tightened into a series of rolling knots and his breath came in short bursts...” (Paulsen 27). This represents how Brian is feeling and the pain he is in. Paulsen is giving a perspective in how he wants the reader to look at how Brian is feeling.
Due to Anna’s sickness, we only had tutorial lesson this week. From tutorial I discovered a new way of thinking what is materializing data. Before, I thought materalising data is turning a dataset into a physical object, thus using physical materials. Like work done by Nathalie Miebach “Hurricane Noel” (2011) (Image below).
The works of art I chose to compare and contrast are Memento Mori, "To This Favour", 1879 by William Michael Harnett, and Bull Skull, Fruit, Pitcher, 1939 by Pablo Picasso. The symbolism behind these two paintings are very similar. There are also some similarities in the composition of these two paintings, but there are many differences in the composition of these two paintings. The first symbolic similarity is that these paintings have a meaning of death.
I chose these works of art because they had many similarities when I began to do my research. These two work of art should be compared because they have the same building structure and although they were
Both pieces are sculptures in the round, meaning they are not carved into a wall; they are freestanding. Both of the kings
This sculpture strived to make it as realistic as possible; soft yet strong features are represented. For example, Marcus face is stern yet shows emotions
To me, this is what I would call an action sculpture because of his stance. With his arm stretched across his torso and twisting back gives me a sense that he is about to throw a rock or some type of material to engage in a fight. Also, focusing on the face we see that his expression is almost that of aggression, determination, and focus. He is engaged and determined to strike out whatever is opposing him.
and The Blue Woman in a Black Chair sculptures have demonstrate the various expressions sculptors can evoke. Through the usage of an approachable, engraved pedestal, the built bronze color and detailed outer aesthetics, Ana Koh-Varilla and Jeffrey Varilla convey the dynamic message of the profound ideas Mr. King presented decades ago and the eternal impact those compelling principles will have for decades to come. Segal, on the other hand strays away from an idealistic approach for exchange of expressing the realistic behaviors of life. Through the placement of the drapery, the tranquil blue color, and ambiguous form of the quiet figure, Segal highlights the relatable sedentary behavior of slouching, inwardly focusing on one’s self and one’s thoughts. In a quiet setting like the Blanton, Segal’s sculpture resonates with many individuals, however his art work was placed in an outside setting, there would be a barrier in embracing and fully connecting with the sculpture at
By Jacqui Crocetta. It was a dress made out twigs and wire. My perspective of Goldsworthy 's artwork and the Landmarks sculptures purpose of gathering nature materials and turning it into art is to prove to people that they don’t have to spend so much money on art when they have their own materials outside their local area. Another purpose of their artwork is to have people reflect on how beautiful nature is and the importance of taking care of the
“In the silence of their studios, busied for days at a time with works which leave the mind relatively free, painters become like women; their thoughts can revolve around the minor facts of life and penetrate their hidden meaning.” There’s a hidden meaning or objective behind every artist’s work. We all interpret paintings differently; some art can be forms of phi phenomenon (illusion of movement created by presenting visual stimuli in rapid succession), or others could be interpreting cues such as Monocular and Binocular. We can’t fully understand what the artist is trying to present unless there is an outline, but we can surely look at the texture, colour, line and shape of each painting to get a meaning for ourselves. A person that demonstrates a form of interpreting his art is Stu Oxley.
According to Suzie Dalien “ Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) was designed without borders.” The Board of Education of the Hendrick Hudson Central School District v. Rowley (1982) and Endrew F. v. Douglas County School District (2017) focus on what determines FAPE. Amy Rowley and Endrew F. were both categorized as students needing special education services and therefore required Individualized Educational plans (IEPs.) In each case the parents disagreed with the proposed IEPs by the school district and both cases advanced to the supreme court.
Both parts of this clip would best be classified as using audiovisual humor as it uses a combination of visual and aural features. In the first part of the clip [proposal], there is an incongruous mismatch and irony that is concurrent, as we can see Joel with chocolates and flowers calling out to his girlfriend, but we also hear and later see that she is sleeping with someone else. The humor in both parts of the clip is self-contained, as you do not need to have knowledge of the other parts of the movie narrative to understand that he was going to propose, that his girlfriend is cheating on him, and that is he wandering the streets and at a bar because of this. The “you can say it again”/”tell me about it” joke is also self-contained as they do not require prior knowledge to understand. This joke is also
In both sculptures the hair is deeply carved and is a vivid feature of the busts. The detail of realism in David’s left hand we can see his veins on his hands when he is holding the slingshot and his ribs near the chest. In the bust of Commodus we can see the similar detail of his hands especially the joints above the knuckle area and how realistic it looks when he’s holding the apples and Hercules club on his. In both busts chest, arms and face are sooth. In both busts these sculptures have the portrait of emperor Commodus and the small town hero David as musculant where as in real life they weren’t this is done because Romans believed that the god made us humans and by showing David and Commodus as being musculant hey are portraying them as gods and God were portrayed to be musculant and strong.
Same subject matter to draw two female figures, yet they revealed opposite characteristics and techniques on their canvas, and the paintings contrast in these ways such as color, brushwork, and space.
This research was carried out not to only show awareness toward the society but also why people should take art seriously. Often times, we can see lots of people debating whether art is important or not. This happened because the lack of exposure and knowledge that has been taught to them. Art can help to shape the society and affect the society to broaden their view of perspective in life by referring on the artworks because each work of art can give different meanings to life.
