The audience for this book appears to be literate women and men who acknowledge the interconnectedness of the world. Anyone could read this book to improve cultural competency skills and to gain ideas to make long-lasting changes in women 's lives. All disciplines could benefit from his book, including social work. The National Association of Social Worker’s (NASW) Ethical Values: the dignity and worth of a person and social justice- are addressed and promoted throughout the book (2015). Along with the NASW Code of Ethics are the perspectives and theories that have been adopted by the social work discipline that surface in this book. The book takes a strength based perspective to identify the areas of strengths within the women to empower them
