Introduction
When you had lost the ones you loved it would be hard to see light at the end of the tunnel. It would be hard to pick up your feet and move on with your life. But that is exactly what Naomi and Ruth did. By honouring God with her actions, Ruth was blessed more than she ever thought by God. She found new hope in her Kinsman Redeemer, Boaz. This gives us a new hope as well because we know that Jesus came to save our lives, just as Boaz did for Ruth. When we are down and cannot see the end of the tunnel, we know that God always makes a way through it. And if we learn from the example of Ruth in how she acted by living under God, we too will be blessed.

Naomi and Ruth may have gone to Bethlehem thinking that they would live out their days picking up the leftover grain just so they could live, but God had greater plans. He had a better plan when they may have thought there was no plan at all. Connecting the above passage to the New Testament, the way Boaz was Ruth’s Kinsman Redeemer is akin to the way Jesus Christ is our Kinsman Redeemer. Jesus came so that we again could be a part of God’s family. He did not want to leave us out picking up the grain that was left behind or in modern day, just living a below average and mediocre life, but God called us to live up to His promises. However, unfortunately it is a reality that many women today face situations just like Ruth did thousands of years ago. Today people still have spouses pass, but it is also very common for marriages and relationships to break down. In this way, many people today are searching for a redeemer; for someone who will help in times of need. God sent Jesus so that we could live out the great and amazing plans that He has for all of our lives when we follow him (Jeremiah 29:11 ). Ruth may have wondered why God let her first husband die, but God knew the plan all along because through marrying and starting a family with Boaz, she became the ‘great grandmother of David’ who is later on the family line of
