Napoleon Bonaparte had a humongous impact in France. To sum it up, he was an emperor in 1804 and a military leader. Another thing he is known for is when he set up the Napoleonic Code, which is also known as the French Civil Code. To explain it briefly, he conquered most of Europe.
Napoleon Bonaparte was born in Corsica, which is a large island of the coast of Italy. Carsica used to belong to Italy but a couple years later it belonged to France. Napoleons real name is Napoleone di Buonaparte, and he changed his name when he was a young adult because he wanted his name to sound a little more French (historynet.com).
He was first married to Josephine de Beauharnais. Napoleon was emperor in 1804, which made Josephine the empress, and she served as an ambassador and a hostess. She was unable to produce a boy.
