Narcissism can be defined as excessive or erotic interest in oneself. We derive this infliction from Greek Mythology and the story of Narcissus, a man who fell in love with his own image reflected in a pool of water. Now, in modern times, narcissism is perpetuated through social media in which technology has become the medium for today’s narcissism. No longer is Narcissism limited to the political or patriarchal dramas from The Greco time period. Instead, it is now attached like a virus into the technology of every modern man and woman. While the times have changed, the conflicts of man have simply adapted to that change. For it is the Persona, that stares back at Narcissus in the pool of water. The true self is what we refer to as Narcissus admiring his own reflection, that we are afraid of. So much that we create a false image and we begin to believe what we see. It is through the persona that narcissism thrives. A great depiction of the persona is a notable proverb that tells us that we each have three faces. The first face, you show to the world. The second face, you show to your close friends, and your family. The third face, you never show anyone. It is the truest reflection of who you are. This leads us to become ‘stuck in our ways’ and we are left to be stagnant, believing our ‘perfect’ lives are free from the need for improvement. However there is much to improve. A great example of this being through expression of language, specifically in writing. There is always more to write and elaborate on. The real problem is that we all think that we are great writers but that does not just limit to writers but people in general. We, as narcissists, believe that everyone will agree with our beliefs. When in actuality not everyone will agree, nor will they follow. This is to be
