I was at the GVSU dorms over the summer for a basketball camp when something truly traumatic happened to me. The second night we were there, most of my team was gathered in one dorm room to play 10 fingers, or the stupid game more commonly known as never have I ever. The game was just starting to reveal some actually interesting things about people when we hear a scream from somewhere else in the dorms. We did not think much of it, because with about six girls basketball teams cramped in a small area there was bound to be screaming. We did pay a little bit more mind to it when someone started pounding on the door. We opened it, saw Maddy Terry standing there looking a little scared. Everyone took a sharp breath. There on the opposite wall was the biggest spider I’d ever seen in my entire life. Like, size of my palm with a thick hairy body. Someone goes, “Haha, Maddy really funny fake spider.” And that was last commentary I heard, because I knew. I knew it wasn’t fake. My body knew, and I was out. I shoved past the six or so gathered girls, screaming and sprinted. I didn’t really know where I was going, but I was going. I was also screaming. Loudly. I sprinted all the way down the dorm hallway, passed the lobby(which had at least two full teams of girls gathered in it), and out the doors. I stood panting and looked back to see Lindsay, and Maddie following me. Lindsay seemed about in as much panic I was in, and Maddie just said, “I didn’t really see it, but I trust you.” Together we slowly gathered ourselves before heading back in. Going back into the dorm was hard, seeing as to how about three whole teams, courtesy to my screaming, had come to investigate.
