Have you ever had something happen so traumatic that you just couldn’t discern a day that it could ever be right again? In 2011, I lost my home to Hurricane Sandy and have been homeless ever since. With the help of my twin sister I have been able to endure our circumstances and survive this down side of life. It was during this time that I realized I needed more and that college was the way to meet my necessities. In fact, I discovered that all of us must work together to make sure that we all make it in this cold world.

My sister and I urge each other to keep pushing and never give up. After school we would complete homework together and confirm that the both of us understood the work so when testing came we both passed. Our motto was there’s no room for failure. We would do activities together such as working out at the gym, spending hours talking and comforting each other and staying dedicated to keeping our minds off of whatever problems were going on then. I yearn to target altering the mindset of the people in the troubled community of which I was born and raised, New Brunswick. There is a large amount of people seeking for help and a way out with no idea of where to start making it out.
