Main Idea Essay: Daniel Boone (Quentin) In the woods of Pennsylvania 1744 five young boys were taking a walk through the forest. All of a sudden, the birds stopped chirping, and the woods went quiet. Four of the boys turned and ran in horror as they heard the roar of a panther from the bushes. The boy that stayed was myself, Daniel Boone, I calmly cocked my rifle and shot the panther in the heart just as it leapt for me. I was born a Quaker in a log cabin near the modern day city of reading. It was on the edge of the Pennsylvania frontier near the Lenape Indian villages. My life was split into 4 main sections, my life in North Carolina, my Kentucky expeditions, Indian encounters, and my later life. The first main part of my life was in North Carolina. I first moved there in 1747. I lived in the Yadkin River valley, I served in the French and Indian war (1754-1763) for the British military until the defeat of Monongahela. After that I married Rebecca Bryan. In 1759 the Cherokee raided the Valley, so my family fled to Culpepper county, Virginia. I served in the North Carolina Militia, during the "Cherokee Uprising".
