Before Shay's Rebellion the government was weak and unorganized and taxes and wages were unfair to the citizens. Farmers at the time were angry at the fact that they were loosing land just because of high taxes and the shortage of currency that was caused by the weak economic system. Shay's Rebellion consisted of the outraged farmers attacking courthouses because of all the unfairness that was being sent towards them. They gave more money for taxes and received low currency. The farmers as well rebelled against the "government" so they wouldn't foreclose their land.

From the world’s perspective, the competition between the United States and the Soviet Union left a great legacy including economic growth, technological advancement, and social stability during the Cold War. Socrates said that Euthyphro had previously stated that “gods are in a state of discord…and that they are at enmity with each other” (Socrates, 8). Socrates also says: “Then according to your argument, my good Euthyphro, different gods consider different things to be just, beautiful, ugly, good, and bad, for they would not be at odds with one another unless they differed about these subjects would they?... They like what each of them considers beautiful, good, and just, and hate that opposite of these?” (Socrates, 9). Euthyphro agrees, proving that certain things disputed by the gods would be both pious and impious due to the fact that different gods consider different things to be holy.
“Apollodoros has not only failed to substantiate his claim that Neaira was the boys’ mother, but he has also provided us with a compelling reason to not believe him.” (Trying Neaira, 60) Evidence. Evidence is something that was lacking in Neaira’s court case. Apollodoros was making so many claims against her and Stephanos but did not have the legitimate evidence to back them up. Apollodoros had a feud with Stephanos in the summer of 348 and Stephanos made a second attack on him but was not successful “in convicting Apollodoros on a charge of murder.”
Greek mythology has been one of the most complicated subjects in the field of religion and mythology. This is due to the complex relations and interactions which exists in the history of Greek gods and the humans who lived in ancient Greece. Different versions of the existence and the establishment of the superior beings were developed, which at times created suspense for readers through their interactions. The various tales which exist explain the various connections between different gods, how they relate to one another, the ideological order in which they came into existence as well as the interactions they had with humans. These tales form the basis of various religious beliefs and practices since it is perceived that it is through the interactions of the gods that humans came into existence, a situation which created the dependent relationship between mortals and gods.
The relationships between the Greek gods and mortals have always been complicated. The gods can be generous and supportive, but also harsh and destructive towards the humans. They claim to be all powerful beings with unlimited power and influence, but in truth, they are far more human than they are perceived. They meddle with human lives, not because they are wise, but because of their own selfish reasons. In Homer’s
For human’s deities are omnipotent, authoritative, dominant and immortal. If there is a need for supplication due to conflict or complication, humans turn towards the divine. Within the Iliad there are various gods who scheme a very significant role in the war of Trojan. The gods are very present, always observing, influencing guiding and most importantly, interfering in the actions of the humans. Athena, Apollo, and Zeus are three very influential divines and their interactions with human characters, along with interference towards the warfare is seen throughout the Iliad.
In art, the Gods were given human bodies and characters just like ordinary people. Some Gods were good, while others were bad. Zeus, the king of the Gods, controlled weather. The thunderbolt was his most powerful weapon. The British Museum states that the ancient Greeks believed that when lightning struck the earth, it was a sign on Zeus being present.
Upon releasing the Cyclops, Zeus was given the lightning bolt as a token for their appreciation. A ten-year war was fought between the Olympians (which also included the Gigantes, Hecatonchires and the Cyclops) and Titans, which resulted in Zeus overthrowing Cronus. Zeus then later became the ruler of the Olympians and ruled on
Humans are like puppets; they have the freedom of choice however their decisions are constantly interfered by the gods. The god’s are given respect due to their extreme power, as mortals know, if offended a god, one would most likely have to face severe consequences. Nonetheless, the gods are not all powerful, as they have emotions that drive them hence weakens them. In Ancient Greek society, having the gods in your favor played a critical role in peoples daily lives, as the gods would extremely influence decision, have significant power over one’s fate, and have direct involvement in the lives of humans. “Father Zeus, is there any mortal left on the wide earth who will still declare to the immortals his mind and his purpose?
