On August 7, 2015 a young women by the name of Heather Maples was found dead at The Cove Apartments, where she lived at. MPD Detective James Abbott discovered her body lying on her stomach, with signs of “blunt force trauma” to her head, and also marks on her neck which indicates strangulation. Her phone was discovered underneath her, so investigators went through in hopes of finding more evidence. She was last seen alive at a bar called Gentleman Jim’s Bar with a couple of male friends that night.
She never returned from her walk, and her body was not discovered until August 7th, 1967. Her body was badly decomposed. She had been stabbed many times in the chest and her fingers and feet were dismembered.
Her death was ruled a homicide. The case still remains unsolved, leaving the big question: Who killed Levy and what was their motive? Ingmar Guandique murdering Chandra in a nearby park and Gary Condit having something to do with her death are two theories surrounding the mystery behind Chandra Levy’s abrupt death. The unsolved and mysterious death of Chandra Levy took the world by surprise.

Black Dahlia Murder In 1947 the tragic loss of Elizabeth Short shocked many people all over the world. This wasn’t your typical murder, this murder had to have been planned out and thought about for a while before its happening. The “Black Dahlia Murder” is the biggest unsolved case in Los Angeles and is still an undergoing investigation. I have reason to believe that Dr. Gorge Hodel is the murderer behind the brutality of Elizabeth Short’s body.
They say she lived a long life in obscurity, but I believe the real reason and most accurate reason is Amelia Earhart ran out of fuel and crashed into the ocean and died of impact. This reason sounds the most accurate because they never found any body remains. She was flying across some of the deepest and longest parts of the ocean, which can lead to them not finding any plane remains or body remains. They also can’t say she landed on a island because when they found remains they were of an man. Amelia Earhart
“But the evidence will show he directed her off the highway to a dark, secluded where he strangled her with a rope and threw her body off a bridge.” Desloup stated (pg 1). As stated in the case, the murder weapon was a rope, as she died because of strangulation. After the murder,
Poe’s Death The circumstances surrounding the death of the famous author Edgar Allan Poe have been debated by historians, professors and literature fans for years. Although there are limited amounts of facts and evidence from the days before his death, various theories have been presented and argued about how Poe died. Although one theory suggests that Poe died from rabies, the more compelling and believable theory is he died from alcoholism.
A short story by Luisa Valenzuela “All About Suicide” is a story that will leave you guessing, wondering what will happen next. You will think to yourself did I read that correctly? Even though Luisa Valenzuela clearly is trying confuse people I believe there is one clear conclusion, looking at all the details in the story I believe what happened was a homicide. Ismael killed the minster, but he knows he is going to get caught in the end so basically he is dead too.
The well-being of a person and other people is one of the many concern for communities. It can just come from general curiosity or even from the overall safety of those who resides in that same community. In Toni Morrison’s Sula, we meet a character named Shadrack, who returned from the World War and now suffers from a mental anxiety disorder. When he returned to The Bottom, as shaken up as he was to be back in this environment, Shadrack created a day for people to commit suicide. This day was known as National Suicide Day.
On December 28th 2016, Hollywood symbol Debbie Reynolds has passed away at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after suffering a severe stroke, only a day after daughter Carrie Fisher's death. " The last thing she said this morning was that she was very, very sad about losing Carrie and that she would like to be with her again. Fifteen minutes later, she suffered a severe stroke."
Suicide is a very complicated event, and there are usually many different reasons why an individual decides to take his or her own life. Often, it involves a number of different people. In the case of Lydia Lee from Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng, it technically was her own fault that she drowned in the community lake. However, many people in her daily life did play a role in her decision to go out to the lake in the first place, especially the members of her family. Even though Nath and James both did play a very significant role in Lydia’s decision to commit suicide, Marilyn should be to blame for Lydia’s death because she put too much pressure on her, she disregarded her feelings, and because she never promoted a healthy social life.
Since this occurrence, there is no record of her actual death, or cause thereof. There are rumors, of course. Some of these state that she fled to a city far away, somewhere along the East coast. Other rumors suggest that she turned to prostitution as a means of surviving, and then died before the end of 1697, at the mere age of seventeen.
“The death of a beautiful woman is, unquestionably, the most poetical topic in the world” was a statement by Edgar Allan Poe. It is a very strong statement, for death, in the non-literary world, is not typically associated with anything poetical. In fact, many would argue that death is the opposite of poetical. If poetical means, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, “having an imaginative or sensitive emotional style of expression”, then it can be said that death is unpoetical. Death is the end of one’s emotions, and in non-literal terms, death can be the lack of emotions.
