Planning and Lesson Plans

This document is a Unit Plan for Native American. This unit follows the VDOE Standard of learning for 2nd grade. This unit Plan also shows how I use informal and formal assessment to assess students learning.

This lesson plan is a lesson from the above unit plan. This lesson plan shows I choose to use informal assessment and activator to grab student attention and activate their prior knowledge before the lesson.

This unit plan shows how I integrated arts based instruction with creative drama activities. I also conducted pre and post assessment for the unit to be aware of where my students stand before the unit is instructed. This way I meet the need of the students while ensuring the …show more content…

I have had student come to me after a lesson saying they didn’t understand the closure. This helps for me to be aware of which students learning needs are met and which student need more support with that particular lesson.

This lesson showed how I used tiered instruction when creating word problems for 2nd graders. I also adjusted this lesson and applied it to a 3rd grade lesson on word problems. The use of tired instruction used tired instruction and questioning. Students who needed more support received clearer problems and sentences frames, while other students received unclear problem and needed to create their own sentences.

Another lesson I conducted was a stem lesson in which integrated Stem and Social Studies. I had students create their own aqueducts and sugar cub arches while studying ancient Rome. Student watched videos to be introduced to the project and then allowed for student to experiment in group to see how it be
