Developmental psychology questions the relationship of an innate attribute and the environmental effects on that attribute. This debate is known as the debate of nature vs. nurture in the world of psychology. The nature side of the theory claims that people are more often born with characteristics that are unobservable at birth, that emerge later in their lives due to different genes “turning on and off” at a certain age.
