They have sacrificed everything, they drag themselves through a world of suffering and pain just so that strangers like you and me can have the freedom to do even the little things. Even though they go through all of this suffering the public may never know what they have done because the government keeps it under wraps. They are the Navy Seals. The Navy Seals are a special operation force that have been evolving their elite training to protect America since the 1960’s. This force has been involved in curtial war events such as, search and destroy missions in Vietnam war, Lightning assaults in grenada and panama, and rooting out terrorist such as the killing of Osama Bin Laden. The Navy Seals collaborated with the rest of the U.S forces. One Seal Team was kept busy providing a beach reconnaissance for U.S. Marines coming ashore at Pearls Airfield. (SEAL History: Navy SEALs in Grenada Operation URGENT FURY 1) Soon after they were on the west side of the island, where they successfully performed three different beach recons. Many other missions were carried out by the Navy Seals when they were on this island, some not as successful as others. For example the extraction of Grenada’s Governor-General and the capture of Grenada’s only radio tower. With both missions not being briefed well or having up to date intellanges the Seals started at a disadvantage. Because of delays in airborne insertion the missions had to be pushed back to night-time, on top of this they also had to deal with bad storms that they would not of had to deal with during the day. This bad storm caused one of the two transport planes to miss their drop zone, which lead to four Seals being lost in a rain squall close to the island.
