Nazi Power The holocaust was a heinous event in which 6 million Jews were massacred. Hitler and his Nazi party used force, persuasion, and manipulation to help unite the German people and concentrate their hatred towards the Jewish community. Massive amounts of propaganda, created by the Nazis, were spread through all of Germany. The propaganda targeted the conditions set by the Treaty of Versailles; it was viewed as unacceptable and placed Germany as an inferior country compared to the rest. The propaganda persuaded the German people into believing that the Treaty of Versailles was unjust, thus electing the Nazi party into power in order to combat the harsh conditions. The Nazis did not just stick to persuading the Germans by speaking of eliminating the biased conditions, which restrained them, that came from the Treaty of Versailles. The Nazis spread ideas of anti-Semitism, creating an enemy for the Germans that they would have to unite together to defeat. The German people were being manipulated into thinking that Jews were the cause of most of the country’s problems. The Jews were depicted as evil beings that sought out to trample everything in the way so that they could achieve power. Conspiracy theories were even spread, adding to the hatred for the Jews. Hitler characterized the Germans as a perfect master race. He manipulated the people, using the idea of a master race, uniting Germans and adding them to the Nazi party. Not everyone accepted the Nazi ideals. Some disagreed with the new fascist government. However, the Nazis now have even stronger power to help them keep control.
