Looking to facilitate mutually beneficial relationships between the organization and the public, public relations teams are responsible for dealing with crisis while also finding ways to help and grow society through communications both in feedback and response. Public Relations professionals are responsible for many management and advancement roles for a company or organization as well as working to resolve every day issues in society. There are many examples of both strong and week public relations teams in today’s media and companies but two specifically that have occurred in the last six months were Amazon, Berkshire Hathaway and JPMorgan Chase entering the health care industry to provide a private, affordable option for many families and Eric Greitens, the governor of Missouri, who is currently dealing with the fallout of several choices that have severely affected his family, himself and his political capitol. …show more content…

Greitens is in a defensive position so any response would be risky but would likely not hurt him more than he has already been hurt. Greitens and his team are not following Ivy Lee’s standards as well because in Lee’s book the best thing to do is to have institutional openness, find positive angles and be straight. By staying silent, the Greitens team is not being transparent, positive or straight forward with what’s going on and leaving many confused and curious as to what may come. Overall, by using both the dialogic theory and Ivy Lee’s standards, it would be more beneficial to Greitens to respond to the crisis than it would for him to remain
