The gist of this article discusses the changes and the statistics of Netflix users and subscriptions of this past year. In compared to last year's statistics, there was a slight decrease, which rose some disappointment. The reason disappointment rose for Netflix is because of the goals that the workers at Netflix claimed they were going to accomplish were not achieved by their expected date. Even with the adding of 130+ countries, Netflix still hasn't seen an increase in subscriptions and streams, unfortunately. Netflix continues to set bars for themselves to try to compensate for past false expectations. The speaker's tone was very informative to the extent that there really wasn't an obvious side to pick. Obviously, the speaker wanted to point out that Netflix has been struggling recently with getting subscriptions and sales higher than previous years. The author was very effective in getting his point across because he used many accurate statistics that were recent and reliable and he also didn't pick an argument to make it seem like he was bias toward one perspective over the other, which is very important in informative articles. Personally, I am surprised with the decreased growth of this past year of Netflix because I know many people who use Netflix and it seemed like it was only getting popular in our area, but I guess it really isn't getting that popular worldwide. I love watching Netflix, even though they may not have the largest selection, the few shows and movies that they have are really great and can give me something to look forward to on my spare time. I hope that Netflix is able to increase sales and subscriptions worldwide so they can be the corporation that they expect themselves to
