At a young age I knew what it meant to be strong and became aware that I would have to do so. Growing up observing the struggles that my mother faced each day while my father wasn't around and the determination in my grandfathers eyes each day as he continued his lifelong battle against Multiple Sclerosis I learned one of the most important lessons of life: Never give up. Not too say that I've lived some horrible life, but I became obsessed with the idea that my education was my ticket to a better life very early on. Going through old photos albums in my house I have found many pictures of myself sitting at the table reading or studying. I believe that the greatest attribute I possess is my ability to learn and grow from each and every experience that I encounter. A regret that I have only just realized as my high school years are coming to a close is that I wish I would have done more! Michigan State offers so many programs that I would love to take advantage of, and if I am lucky enough to be accepted, I will gladly do just that! I have recently come to appreciate how fortunate I am for everything that I have and am even looking into doing some traveling over the summer with Habitat for Humanity so I can give back. …show more content…

This allows me to gain a more superior understanding of the world around me, and also inspires me to do my best to help those who may need it. An act of kindness, even as seemingly insignificant as a compliment, can make such an immense difference in someone's day.
