Let’s just get straight to the point. I would like to know when Newport is going to take bullying, harassment and racial discrimination of its black students seriously. For several years’ instances of racial profiling, harassment and bullying towards African American students have been repeatedly reported to the administration of Tyee Middle School and Newport High School. It has also been reported at the District level by me personally. Children of color attend school in an extremely hostile environment and Tyee, Newport and the District have done virtually nothing to ensure these children are afforded their right to an education. Additionally, Newport and the District is in serious violation of civil rights statutes. Newport has yet to adequately address, and in many instances school employees simply ignore the harassment and bullying that occurs regularly to the children of color. …show more content…

Yet, it is my family whom for whatever reason continues to be threatened and harassed by Baylee and Brock Bartles for reasons unbeknownst to me as the incidents last week did not involve any of the Bartles children. As I understand it Baylee’s racist ways may have been exposed during Newport’s investigation.
White students at Newport continue to be allowed to freely use the term “nigger” in the classrooms and hallways. I would be more than happy to share with you the snap chat photo taken in a Newport High School classroom of Ms. Baylee Bartles snapping the word “nigger” with a large smile on her face with her tongue hanging out. Perhaps Newport already has this information, and for whatever reason Jahdai and J’von are the intended targets of the Bartles intimidation and bullying. Enough is
