the past year there have been approximately 900 people who have been shot by the police, mainly Blacks followed by Hispanics and lastly White. Reporters mainly cover the news about Black people being killed leaving out other the races that are also being killed. A particular case was the death of Michael Brown in Ferguson when a White police shot and killed Brown. Many journalists’ weren’t at the crime scene, leaving them to judge from what other people saw. Since journalists’ try to be discreetly bias, they will go off of what they believe is correct. If they favor White people, their stories will lean more on that side saying the cops are morally correct. But if they favor Black people their stories will lean towards punishing the White police. …show more content…
Why does this have to be a news slant case? Does #BlackLivesMatter need to be a violent protest? Why can’t police stop killing these victims and just punish them in other ways? How can we stop this act of killing and actually have a meaning to #BlackLivesMatter, where they don’t kill Blacks because they truly matter, like everyone else. The limitations to #BlackLivesMatter is that even though many people consider this an important matter, many Journalists’ might be biased and slant it in their own way. Having news slants, #BlackLivesMatter might not have as much importance in the media.
