A drug test is a biological specimen of urine, hair, blood, breath, sweat, or saliva. It is used to determine the presence of drugs or metabolism. In the Nfl drug tests are used for many reasons one of them being that they aren’t allowed and there is much information to prove that. All players are tested at least once per league year during training camp for substances of abuse including marijuana. This makes not so much sense because if there are reports that you were using any kind of drug your team could drug test you immediately.
All teams have the permission to test you at any time and there seems to be no joke about it. The rule is now changed so that they are only punished if it occurs during the NFL season. This is a bad idea because that means they can use drugs while the season isn't in session. Drug testing programs currently are at their best making sure players are healthy and fit without the use of drugs or and other harmful substances. So really if a player is using drugs it's hard to pass a test depending on how recent it was. “It’s hard to fail a test that you know it is coming it either means you have a real problem or you aren’t very smart but hundreds of players are tested, so a perfect record is rare.” So the NFL should make the tests more random but have …show more content…

With the drug being used for medical treatments across the world, should it be allowed in one of the most physical sports the NFL? Any use of marijuana ever to occur happen once in awhile would be considered abuse, while the same level of alcohol would not. What's hard to understand is why would the players use marijuana knowing the consequences and trouble they would deal with, Also why would a doctor prescribe such a harmful substance if they are the one supposed to be
