“In this town, we call home everyone hail to the pumpkin song,” sings Jack Skellington in the movie Nightmare Before Christmas. Have you ever wondered if the movie Nightmare Before Christmas is a Christmas, or a Halloween movie? In my opinion, I think the movie “Nightmare Before Christmas” is a Halloween movie. The following is my evidence of why I think the movie “Nightmare Before Christmas” is a Halloween movie.
My first piece of evidence is, the movie mostly takes place in Halloween Town. The characters do visit Christmas Town, and the doors to the the holidays. Only for a short time though. The songs have a creepy twist. Even the song “What is this?”. Which is when Jack Skellington discovers Christmas Town. My fifth piece of evidence is, Santa Claus seemed to portrayed as creepy, when Jack explained to the town about the meaning of Christmas, they called him Sandy Claws instead.. My 6th piece of evidence is, the movie was released around Halloween
My 5th of evidence of why I think the movie “Nightmare Before Christmas” is a Halloween movie is because when Sally picked up the flower, it turned into a Christmas tree and burned. Which gives hint that Christmas will not go well. Then Sally tries to warn Jack. My 6th piece of evidence in the end Jack decides to embrace being the Pumpkin King. Lastly, the children were gifted scary Christmas presents. Christmas is cheery not creepy.
But other people might think the movie “Nightmare Before Christmas” is a Christmas movie because Santa takes a big part in the movie. However, I only think he takes a big part because he was kidnapped. He would most likely just have been mentioned if he was not kidnapped. There are also scenes with snow.
