Dark and Brillant The Nightmare Before Christmas is a movie written by Tim Burton. This film came out in 1993. As a fantasy/musical the movie is approximately an hour and 16 minutes and rated PG-13. It is a classic that kids still watch today when it is close to Halloween. As a child, it is very energizing to watch the creatures and listen to the catchy songs. As a child and even now as I am older it is one of my beloved movies by Tim Burton. Tim Burton also produced and directed plenty of other astonishing movies like: Edward Scissor hands, Beetlejuice, Batman, and Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory. All which have such a unique story line and very fun films to watch. It cost $18 Million for the settings and special effects to create this movie, but the box offices made $75 Million. The dark, creepy, distorted, buildings and creatures makes the viewers interested and wanting to keep watching. The animation was amazing and it shows since the movie is still being played as the original. Since the animations were so brilliant and creative the movie won “Best Individual Achievement for Creative Supervision in the Field of Animation in 1994.” An example from the movie is the beginning when they first show Halloween Town. The town is dark with weird shape buildings followed by the strange looking creatures of the town. Jack Skellington, the main character, is a super tall skeleton man in a pumpkin head. All the little details on each animated creature and city is why it is amazing to the eyes, because you always have new things to discover. The setting and special effects are unique, because the writer Tim Burton follows his own unique and original way of writing that makes people love his movie so
