Nikola Tesla was born in Croatia in 1856. Tesla helped invent and build one of the biggest power plants of our time and his. This power plant was made to reach very far distances, and was built at the Niagara Falls. Before coming to America and building this power plant Tesla worked in Paris as an engineer. He also built up his resume by working with renowned inventor Thomas Edison. Their partnership did not last long because Tesla preferred independent work. Leoh Ming Pei’s architectural style helped make the world more diverse in cultures. Pei was born in 1917 in Guangzhou, China. When Leoh Ming Pei came to America he enrolled in the University of Penn. He later transferred to MIT. He could not return to China because of the raging war in his country. He decided to stay in America and start to design. Pei used many geometric shapes and designs in his buildings. He also designed buildings based on the areas and countries he was in. Instead of using generic bases and ideas he was inspired by the cultures of the country or area he was in. Later in life Pei founded his own architectural firm.
