Nikola Tesla Impact On America

746 Words3 Pages

Immigrants are people who leave their country to live permanently in a foreign country. Immigrants to the United States have come from all over the world and have made a huge impact on America. People like Elon Musk, Albert Einstein, and Nikola Tesla have greatly affected the fields of science and technology. Nikola Tesla was from Smiljan, Croatia and he invented many things during his time living from 1856 to 1953. Alternating current was one of his many great inventions. It is an electric current that occasionally reverses direction. Alternating current has made a huge impact on everybody’s lives because it is used for powering many things like houses. This supports how he made a positive impact in the field of technology. He also invented the Tesla Coil in 1891. The Tesla Coil is a kind of induction coil for producing …show more content…

He discovered the photoelectric effect, which is when electrically charged particles are released from or into a material when it takes in electromagnetic radiation. Einstein also developed the theory of special relativity. “Special relativity is an explanation of how speed affects mass, time and space. The theory includes a way for the speed of light to define the relationship between energy and matter — small amounts of mass (m) can be interchangeable with enormous amounts of energy (E), as defined by the classic equation E = mc2” (Stein). Einstein has achieved many things for all of his work in science and physics. Einstein won a Nobel Prize in 1921 for his work on Brownian motion. Brownian motion is the random motion of tiny particles suspended in a liquid. On February 12, 1926 he won a gold medal from the Royal Astronomical Society for the work he did on theoretical sciences and for his discovery of the photoelectric effect. Then on June 28, 1929 he won a Max-Planck-Medal from the German Physical Society for his amazing achievements in theoretical
