In the first couple chapters a theme of chance stood out to me, the symbolization of the briefcase, and the conflict Llewellyn Moss is faced with. All of these Devices will lead to a much bigger picture in the advancement of the book. As said before the theme of chance plays an important roll in the novel. In the first chapter of the book, Llewellyn happened to stumble upon a drug deal that went horribly wrong. He finds a briefcase with more than 2 million dollars in it.
