Poems have been a great way of telling stories for many years all around the world. From William Shakespeare to Robert Frost, it has been a very popular and interesting way of expressing somebodies thoughts, dreams or fantasies. No More Boomerang was just one of many great Australian poems written by the well known activist Kath walker. Kath was born on November the third 1920. Although she was born to the name of Kathleen Jean Mary Ruska, she was more commonly known as Kath walker. As she became well known for her work in politics, an educator and an artist, she excelled in poetry regarding The Aboriginal rights and lifestyles such as oodgeroo, the past and My people. As the poem is from an Aboriginal person 's point of view, she explains what it was like before the europeans and how life was after they colonized. She used techniques such as repetition, metaphors, colloquial language, slang and symbolism to create a greater bond with the reader. The reason I chose a bright and colourful palette of colours on the left side is to symbolise how great it was for the Aboriginals and the ways they lived compared to the right side with very dark and dull colours to represent the loss of their country and how it had turned their lives into an awful state of unwelcoming into their own country. The illustration of the pyramid on the bright side shows it coloured all black symbolising how everybody was equal. However on the right side it shows the black on the bottom with the white on top resembling white supremacy over the black race. In conclusion, the poem no more boomerang is a mesmerizing poem about Australia that resembles the cultural difference between both the Indigenous and white Australians which shows how the colonization of the Europeans and how it had dramatically changed the Aboriginals lives and ways of
