Nobody and the Relation with His Stepmother Mrs Owens
The graveyard book is an interesting book, originally written with the intent of being a book for young teens or adolescents. We can see that because it has fantasy themes that include ghosts, giant snakes, ghouls and other creatures from another plane of existence. But what I find particularly interesting in this book is also a thing of fantasy, but a more real one. It’s the relationship, and the two main characters Nobody, or Bod for short, and the ghost Mrs. Owens that is the most interesting. Not only is it something because it’s a mother and son relationship between a ghost and boy. Bod is a toddler in the start and has particular powers and he has a surprisingly nice relationship with Mrs. Owens, who seems like a very nice woman, and parent to some extent.
Bod, short for nobody, Owens, were granted his name because of a set of peculiar events in the very start of his childhood. His family got murdered and he instead were raised by ghosts. Why the ghosts decided to name him that could perhaps be because it refers to the fact that he no longer has a family or context that would define him as someone special. It is safe to say that when a boy that age learns a thing like that not only does he feel revenge and want to avenge his parents. It also becomes a great motivator for him to do what needs to be done to reach the horrendous goal of avenging his parents. In this case it is to focus on his own education. It is also clear that he had been traumatized by that, and that he would also feel a lot of hate and resentment due to the fact on what he has missed out of, a normal family life with his normal, not undead parents, the potential to meet other kids and go to another normal school for a longer time and
