Businesses become successful by having a strategy and some type of leadership in place. No business can be profitable or have the competitive advantage without a strategy in place. Leadership is also important because without them training the employees and teaching the importance of the mission and vision for the business, the businesses success will not be at its greatest. This report will outline the strategy and leadership plan for a nonprofit food bank organization.
A strategic plan is a tool that provides guidance in fulfilling a mission with maximum efficiency and impact (Mittenthal, 2002). Resources: Our program is funded through donations from the local community such as health departments, churches, or governmental grants. We also are open to accepting financial donations which could come from individuals or a major donor. The major donors would include big corporations who will contribute to the organization quarterly or annually. Individual donors would be responsible for giving at their own free will. When resources are low, we will offer a sliding fee discount on the food to the recipient, this will help the organization to gain funds to replenish the supplies.
The leadership for this organization will play a very important role. The leadership team for the food bank would consist of the chief executive officer (CEO), the chief financial officer (CFO), chief operations officer (COO) and the chief marketing officer (CMO). “A strong nonprofit leader drives a sense of mission down through the organization, upward into the board and outward in the community.
