The book “Seedfolks” introduces new people from Cleveland: Nora and Mr. Myles. Nora was British, and she took care of Mr. Myles. Mr. Myles was an old man who suffered several strokes and lost his abilities of talking and moving. Even though both of them came from different backgrounds, they share similar feelings about the garden and planting seeds. Moreover, both characters tried to find a new sense in their life. After his second stroke, Mr. Myles lost his speech and could not tell anything about himself. Therefore, Nora described him as a mysterious person who lost the sense of life. Even though Nora tried to help Mr. Myles, he did not show any interest to this world. In fact, he was a dying person, who did not have too much time left. However, everything changed when he discovered the community garden from the neighborhood. One day, during the walk, Mr. Myles raced his arm and pointed toward the garden. Once he reached the lot, Mr. Myles started to make movements which he could not do before. A miracle happened, and his eyes regain the spark of energy. Probably, she acted in the same way with Mr. Myles as she saw the sight of her own father. All the time she tried to add more variety in Mr. Myles’ routine. For instance, she took him for a walk every day and often changed the route. In addition, when she noticed Mr. Myles’ interest for the garden, Nora decided to help him plant a garden. Since Mr. Myles was in wheelchair, Nora filed up a trash barrel with dirt and used it for planting seeds.
