The name of my book is Prisoner B-3087 and it is written by Alan Gratz. This book is based on true events, but is historical fiction. It takes place in multiple concentration camps across Poland and Germany and in Krakow during World War 2. Yanek, or Jakob, is the name of the main character of this book.
Indeed, the majority of what I found was differences. However, Rudy and I experienced similar obstacles that define each identity. First of all, isn’t it seems obvious that because two people have only couple characteristics in common and held the majority of differences, this two person is not alike? At first, I believed that this statement is true because if two distinct people have characteristics not in common, then they should encounter a different kind of obstacles and grew up differently. This could be said to Rudy and me.
Reflection on the article, “The Virtues of Ballpark Normalcy” by Lisa Blumberg Lisa Blumberg defines ballpark normalcy as “ life that is not quite normal-but is ‘in the ballpark.” My question is what is normal? Every person young or old has strengths and weaknesses; this is true to anyone, whether they have a disability or not. The word ballpark in this context refers to a range.
No one wants to be different but, everyone is. One of the main reason is culture. There are so many cultures that it makes it seem you are different from everyone else. In “Fish Cheeks” by Amy Tan, and “Taco Head” by Viola Candales both narrators face internal conflict with their culture and how people see them. They struggle with who they are, and who they want to be.
Einstein became a physicist and started to live outside of society. ( After having the attention of just one physicist, one of the most influential physicist of his time, Einstein began to change into a much more unique person. Einstein changed the way he looked at the world and science and did everything differently than others. Because Einstein changed his way of thinking and looking at the world he became a better scientist who thought differently than others to make the world a better place. Martin Luther King Jr. lived by the quote “ To be yourself in a world...
Being Special or Being Normal When a person figures out that the ideal word he or she lives in is actually a prison, he or she will do everything to break out, even though there are a plenty of obstacles one has to overcome. Such as Montag, the protagonist of the Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. He is a fireman whose job is to burn books. Besides, he is pleased to do it until he meets Classier, who is a 17 year-old girl.
As one race in one kingdom sharing one phylum, it is easy to think that everyone is the same. That people have no difference and it would be better if every human was all the same. From head to toe, there are differences, different clothing styles, different hair, and yes, even different skin color. Looking even deeper there are different likes, dislikes, passions, and humor. As humans we think individually, making us unique.
Nobody is the same, and nobody is perfect. Under those circumstances, people are
Everything in the world is unique, no two things are the same no matter what. Whether it be mass-produced clothing, snowflakes, twins, or handmade jewelry none of it is the same as another. Yet it is expected for them to be different, after all, it’s impossible to have an exact copy of something. Imagine though if people did expect things to be the same. No not something but people, imagine if everyone was to be the same, and if not you would suffer for it.
Just because someone is uniquely different from another doesn’t always make them an outsider, and just develops them as a character or it is what they choose, like
To make a society like this work the only way is to make everyone the same, therefore, not one person is “normal” in this
In society today, normalcy is average; some are above, and some are below. In this short story, that is removed.
When placed in certain situations, the human body instinctual adapts and copes in order to survive. The ways it does this are through structure in life and level of nurture you were given as a child. The lifestyle you may live everyday can be considered a taboo in a completely different society. So who is to decide what is considered normal? I believe that the role of society and the genetic layout that is given to you from your birth parents are deciding factors as to what makes you human.
The definition for normal is “conforming to a standard; usual, typical, or expected.” Who’s standard? Societies? What is typical? This is a very hard question to answer because everyone’s “normal” is different. I believe that everyone, everywhere has a little something different about them but who are we to judge and decide what is “normal” and “abnormal”? The reading started off with a short story about Johanne and all of her thoughts.
Human beings are unique Nobody looks exactly the same This uniqueness is what distinguishes one person from the other .This is what makes them worthy . Problem statement : Many People think they are not unique but flawed Reason :lack of believe in themselves and influence of the society
